Your goal in this unit is to have exposure to the many changes immigration has gone through in the United States. We will evaluate the reasons why immigration has changed and who it has impacted the most. We will consider the course we are on with today's policies and laws. This is a big year for policy changes and reforming the way this country looks at immigration and affirmative action.
You will need to create a folder in Google docs that you keep all your articles and research. You will be asked to create a couple of projects around the themes discussed in class.

How to Inference: Part of the process of evaluating immigration is making inferences. What do you do when you make an inference? You use facts and data, stories, and pictures to make educated guesses. What will happen next and why will it happen. Who will it happen to, where will it happen, and when? This is different than making an assumption. What is an assumption? Read the article to find out the difference.
